It happened first to the lady at the end of the street, then the family on the corner, and then the male couple across the way. Their cats disappeared.
From their impromptu gathering, they barked questions my way. I shook my head and shrugged.
Bet they hadn't seen the story of the scientist, who, certain cats met the criteria, entered felis catus into the alien invasive species database. Apparently, domestic cats harm biodiversity because they hunt and kill birds and mammals.
I wheeled my garbage to the curb. 7 o'clock. The evidence would be gone in a couple of hours.
