In Waterbury, CT, the first burial ground was right near the center of the city. As Waterbury grew outward, the residents decided that the interred needed to be moved to a better, more sanitary location. Nearly all the bodies were moved, and eventually the area came to house the Silas Bronson Library and Library Park.
Markers of the Bronson family remain along Meadow Street, supported by the retaining wall of the park.
